Things to Do in Bangkok with Kids: Recommended 5D4N Itinerary

Untitled

This is our final Bangkok 2018 travelogue, where I provide my 5 days 4 nights itinerary for your reference. I hope this Recommended Bangkok Itinerary for Families Travelling with Kids will come in handy especially if you are travelling with young kids like ours. As parents, we find ourselves asking what are some of the things to do in Bangkok with kids. A fair bit of thought and research went into creating this itinerary from scratch because I wanted to have a good mix of eating, sightseeing and shopping for everyone in our group as we were also travelling with my in laws.

BANGKOK DAY ONE

Untitled

SIN to BKK

Ours was an afternoon flight and we reached BKK at around 3pm ICT. Good timing for us as compared to our 7am flight to Hong Kong last November. LOL.

Airport Transfer

Prior our trip, I had arranged for airport transfer from Suvarnabhumi Airport. The large van could accommodate all 7 adults, 2 children and 8 suitcases. There was a very bad jam on the way to our hotel. Journey took more than one hour.

Our hotel is very conveniently located across Asoke BTS station, as well as Terminal 21 shopping mall. Our well-appointed rooms were spacious, cosy and reasonably priced. Slightly more expensive than most average hotels but it’s definitely worth it given its convenient location and esteemed reputation.

We have been there for countless bowls of boat noodles for our past two trips to BKK too! Don’t order too many bowls if you want to leave some stomach space for other food elsewhere.

Check out of The Westin Grande Sukhumvit

We got our pocket wifi device from Roaming Man, which offers free delivery and wifi rental starts from just $3 a day. Very affordable and convenient! We were also very impressed by the super long-lasting battery life. It could last the entire day and we only had to charge it overnight for the next’s day usage. Connectivity is also very stable and reliable. Roaming Man wifi device helped us to stay connected throughout our trip, even along our journey to the airport after checking out of the hotel.

  1. Thanks for sharing such useful places of interest & food with the LOs in tow. I love that your comprehensive blog include intineraries meant for both the young & the old! 💓 Heading for ours on 21April, wish us luck… 🙈

    • Airport transfer is 1200 baht per trip for a minivan which can accommodate around 8 pax with luggages. If you are travelling with a small group, getting a cab from the airport is cheaper. I wouldn’t recommend our driver as we were not very pleased with his service. You can email me if you want and I can provide the coordinator’s name; just request that he doesn’t assign this particular driver to you.

  2. I’m keen to try W.T Bird’s Nest Company 泰國運通燕窩. But can’t seem to pin point its location on google. Is it walking distance from the Chit Lom BTS station? How did u get there?

    • We hired a private driver that day and had him drop us off at this place. And yes it is near Chit Lom BTS station, about 10 minutes walk 🙂

  3. Hi, may I know whether this Talad Neon Night Market is near to Chinatown?
Can it be reached by walking from Chinatown as I plan to have our dinner there.

  4. Hey, great blog and i love the well taken and clear photos ypu posted! What’s the supper you had? There was a photo but not sure what it was and where you got it feom but boy it sure looks yummy!
