Li Bai Cantonese Restaurant Dim Sum Review

Hello chewy friends! This is a very overdue blog post. Remember I blogged about our Valentine’s Day staycation at Sheraton Towers earlier? Before we checked out that day, we went for dim sum at Li Bai Cantonese Restaurant just downstairs!

I loveeee dim sum and was more excited about being able to try out the dim sum at Li Bai than the staycation itself! 😛 Upon knowing that we were gonna stay at Sheraton, I immediately reserved a table! Sheraton is like really out of the way, so making a trip specially to Li Bai has never once crossed my mind la.

Just look at the amount of food we ordered for two! We wanted to order more but the waitress told us in Mandarin, “I think that’s quite alot for two people. If later not enough can order some more.” LOL.

Appetizer which we didn’t manage to eat because the food was served really quickly.

One of the best Roasted Pork ($13) that we have eaten! The meat was tender yet substantial enough to yield a nice chewy texture and the roast pork crackling was just perfect! I can’t decide if I prefer eating it on its own or with the superb mustard sauce served together with the roasted pork.

Stir Fried Radish Cake with XO Chilli Sauce ($7.20) was a teeny bit disappointing. It had a tender texture but I would prefer it to be slightly more charred and crisp on the surface. Also, it wasn’t at all spicy!

I suggested ordering the Scallop Siew Mai ($7.20) as the hubs loves to eat scallops. Topped with black fish roe, this was clearly a winner and we almost wanted to order this again!

I love Steamed Pork Dumplings! The ones at Li Bai were fabulous; delicious ground pork and sweet tasting broth gelatin encased in a delicate steamed bun!

The hubs doesn’t eat this so I almost had the entire Braised Chicken Feet to myself. The sauce was slightly too sweet for my liking.

I really liked the Steamed Rice Rolls with Char Siew ($8). The rice rolls weren’t too thick but firm enough to not disintegrate when we chopped it up into smaller parts with our chopsticks. It is my personal preference to order char siew instead of prawn because I feel that the char siew goes much better with the sweet sauce.

Fluffy, flaky Egg Tarts ($4.80) anyone?

It was a splendid dim sum meal at Li Bai Cantonese Restaurant! Need to start planning a revisit soon! 😀
