Brasserie Les Saveurs Afternoon Tea at St Regis Singapore

A32A8569

Ticked another afternoon tea place off my list! We met up with Mag to give her a belated birthday celebration and I suggested Brasserie Les Saveurs at St Regis Singapore since she chose afternoon tea over lunch. There was a small hiccup before we were whisked off to our table because there was no record of my email reservation but luckily, I didn’t delete the confirmation email so at least got proof la.

A32A8586

The interior of the restaurant feels a little chichi, but then again, it’s a French restaurant right? Haha. Perfect place for afternoon tea with the girl friends! Afternoon tea is served from 3pm to 5pm from Mondays to Saturdays, and 4pm to 6pm on Sundays.

A32A8580

While waiting for our afternoon tea tiers to be served to our tables, most of us got up to check out the buffet items near the entrance. This side of the buffet featured items such as scones, smoked salmon, pork terrine, pies, etc.

A32A8554

Classic scones, chocolate chip scones, orange scones, cranberry scones and pesto scones. So many types!

A32A8533

From the quintessential three-tiered silver stand, we nibbled on classic finger sandwiches from the bottom tier, savoury treats from the middle tier and a variety of sweet delights from the top tier. It was a little disappointing that we were not allowed to try out different teas and also, our tea was refilled with hot water only. I had the Grand Wedding Tea, which is black tea blended with sunflowers and breathtaking exotic fruits.

A32A8551

Smoked salmon, egg & mayonnaise and tomato, cucumber & cream cheese sandwiches. Good if you need to load up on carbs, but nothing to shout about really.

A32A8550

Items from the middle tier were more interesting. The Duck Foie Gras ‘Profiteroles’ tasted pretty subtle, so some people might like it. I also enjoyed the Asparagus and Smoked Salmon Quiche.

A32A8576

For obvious reasons, the Prawn, Lobster & Tarragon Cup Pie had to be served separately. We thought it might be French onion soup, given this is a French restaurant and all. So Mag asked the server what soup was this and the reply was a curt one, “This is not soup. This is a pie.”

A32A8578

Ok I know it’s a pie but tell me this isn’t soup as well? The soup was pretty rich tasting and if only we could go for seconds!

A32A8536

Desserts! My favourite of the lot was the Creme Caramel with Orange Compote. The other sweet delights were Raspberry Tarts, Classic Mocha Eclairs, and Homemade Chocolate Praline.

The other side of the buffet had a nice spread of desserts consisting mainly of cakes, pastries and a chocolate fondue fountain.

I feel that the afternoon tea at Brasserie Les Saveurs is quite reasonably priced. SPG members are entitled to 15% off but since we went on a public holiday, there wasn’t any discount. Nice ambience for romantic dates and hen parties.

10 Scotts @ Grand Hyatt Singapore Afternoon Tea

P6188154

The hubs and I recently went on a triple date afternoon tea session with our fellow foodie friends at 10 SCOTTS, located at the lobby level of Grand Hyatt Singapore. Phoebe, Elaine and Daniel were the first few people we befriended back when I started blogging about food in 2010! Omg we go a long way back and all of us are happily married now. 2016 seems to be the year of afternoon teas for me! Anyway, I’m gonna eat as much as I can before I pop really soon! Wheeee! 😀

P6188126

The first time I had afternoon tea at 10 SCOTTS was sometime around the end of 2014 and that was with a group of mummies from my EDD group, as well as some of their babies. It’s quite an ideal place for babies and young children even though the number of baby chairs might be limited, there are low couch seats which are pretty comfortable and you can simply have your little one seated next to you.

P6188133-001

Let me just say that I highly recommend 10 SCOTTS’ afternoon tea because of the fact that the food items are REPLENISHABLE and they are served on two-tiered stands, which make everything seem so much more aesthetically pleasing. While the coffee and tea are refilled with hot water upon request, you are not obliged to stick to the same beverage throughout your afternoon tea session.

P6188128

There is a double-seating policy at 10 SCOTTS which does not only apply to weekends but weekdays as well. Also, afternoon tea is slightly pricier on weekends.

P6188124

Besides the replenishable items from the two-tiered stand, there is also a buffet line of cold cuts, main course and desserts! Aren’t you excited already?! The menu changes on a weekly rotational basis, so you will always have the chance to try something different on your subsequent visits.

P6188123

Cold cuts, cheese and bread.

P6188120

A humble assortment of Sushi

P6188127

Hot savoury live station featuring one type of main course.

P6188135-001

During our visit, it was Peppered beef fillet with brandy and green peppercorn sauce gravy. Tiger prawns and chicken fillet are offered on other weeks.

P6188109

P6188152

The freshly baked Raisin scones from the buffet line were warm and crumbly, but only if they were more buttery! Besides clotted cream and raspberry jam, 10 SCOTTS also serve their scones with kaya jam!

P6188110-001

P6188141

Smoked salmon wrap with avocado, cream cheese and dill.

P6188138

Borsch (cold beetroot soup) with sour cream foam.

P6188137

Curry fish balls.

P6188139

Mustard leaf rolls with rice noodle, tofu and laksa leaf.

P6188143

Curry puffs.

P6188157-001

Crab cakes with remoulade sauce. These were da bomb and we each had quite a few servings. I think misterchewy ate like four crab cakes.

P6188118

Berries crumbles.

P6188116

Caramel choux buns.

P6188119

Cassis yoghurt mousse in shooter glass.

Traditional English Afternoon Tea at The Landing Point, The Fullerton Bay Hotel

P5017267

The Landing Point’s Afternoon Tea Set at The Fullerton Bay Hotel

Savour a freshly-prepared assortment of English scones, finger sandwiches, delicate pastries and tempting sweets accompanied with a selection of fine teas and coffees.

P5017332

We had a simple pre-Mother’s Day celebration on Labour Day last week! I just felt like having afternoon tea and began to search for places that serve refillable high tea sets. It didn’t take me long to decide on The Landing Point at The Fullerton Bay Hotel and I proceeded to make reservations via email.

P5017334

We passed by The Landing Point once, but that was an awfully long time ago. Really like the atmosphere and boy, was I glad to be back! For a good view overlooking Marina Bay Sands, you may opt for the alfresco spots or indoor bar seats by the full-length glass windows. However, neither of these were suitable for us because smoking is allowed outdoors and the indoor bar seats weren’t comfortable enough for us to enjoy our high tea in a relaxed manner (yes we tested before switching to the sofa seats lol).

P5017263

Before our afternoon tea set was brought to our table, we skimmed through the menu and I thought that the Magic Moment Tea by TWG sounds lovely. The hubs, on the other hand, went for his default choice, the Moroccan Mint Tea.

P5017326

Little misschewy is no stranger to afternoon tea but it was her first time having afternoon tea in Singapore! I clearly remember that she loved the scones we had at InterContinental Hong Kong last year.

P5017265-001

For afternoon tea on weekends at The Landing Point, there are two seatings and we chose the first, which is from 12.30pm to 3pm. Pretty reasonable, I would say. More than 2 hours of nibbles and tea should keep our bellies happy!

P5017290-001

I have a preference for afternoon tea served on a two or three-tier stand because it makes everything look so delicate and dainty! Not forgetting, photogenic! Hahaha.

P5017270

P5017296

Apart from the afternoon tea set, we were also served warm scones with clotted cream and berry jam. The hubs had the plain scone while I chose the raisin scone. They were crumbly on the outside and fluffy on the inside! You can request for more if you can’t get enough of them!

P5017278

Cucumber Sandwich with Ikura Roe

P5017280

Mini Prosciutto Ham Bagel

P5017286

Smoked Salmon Mille Feuille with Caviar

P5017301

Duck Rilette in Sesame Bun

P5017316

Boston Lobster Cornet a l’Oriental

P5017294

Little misschewy was equally excited and started to request for certain items that caught her eye.

P5017288

Salted Chocolate Caramel Tart, Red Velvet with Cream Frosting and Fruit Cake

P5017311

We were highly amused when she pointed at the Red Velvet with Cream Frosting and said, “I want baa baa sheep!” Well, it does kinda look like a sheep. Shaun the Sheep maybe? LOL. So this is her devouring the ‘sheep’s head’, I suppose!

P5017322

P5017282

Strawberry Tart, Chocolate Éclair, Lemon Tart

P5017299

Most of the items that Little misschewy wanted were from the sweets selection but they turned out to be way too sour for her! Strawberry tart was so sour that she dropped the strawberry without hesitation.

P5017300

Oh dear, the lemon tart was also very sour! Hahaha.

P5017292

Canelé and Pistachio Madeline

P5017275

Although we have a sweet tooth, we found ourselves requesting for most of the savouries to be replenished, rather than the sweets. The Landing Point’s Afternoon Tea Set is available daily and is priced at $45++ per adult and $22++ per child (6-11 years old). Price includes free flow coffee and tea. Redemption of car park coupons is only applicable for diners after 6pm for a la carte dinner, and weekends for having afternoon tea.
