Helmed by a chef with over 20 years of experience, customers can be assured of high quality and freshness at Kushi Dining Bar.

DSCF2882

The Pitan Tofu is one of the well-loved favorites and a great appetite whetter.

DSCF2886

Kushi Dining Bar offers a variety of sashimi. The best way to get started is to have some Mixed Sashimi and then decide on which you like best before going for seconds or even more!

DSCF2895

Anago Tempura is essentially soft anago eel encased within a crispy tempura batter. I didn’t really like this as it didn’t go well with the dressing.

DSCF2898

There is a wide variety of Kushiyaki items for you to choose from.

My favorite was the Ton Toro (pork cheek) Kushiyaki which had a very tender and delicate texture.

DSCF2901

If you like wasabi, you gotta try Tako Wasabi at least once! The hubs and I found that it’s actually pretty mild so most people should be able to stomach this.

The Lobster Porridge is also one of the highlights at Kushi Dining Bar.

NUVO Singapore Food Review

_MG_2963

Inspired by the best of Italian and Japanese ingredients and techniques, NUVO offers an intimate dining experience with flavours set to tantalize your taste buds. Executive Chef Mark Richards, formerly from Keystone Restaurant, helms the kitchen at NUVO, whipping up delightful creations with his perfected specialty skill, the sous-vide technique. With over 16 years of experience, Chef Mark Richards constantly pushes the boundaries to achieve greater heights at NUVO. As a result, he has carefully curated exquisite dishes that reflect the best of both well-loved cuisines. Taste his signature creations such as the Smoked Uni Carbonara, Angus Osso Buco Stew, and Kurobuta Pork Belly.

_MG_2976

I’m not someone who would order salad at a restaurant but the Warm Japanese Mushroom Salad ($18) won me over. The pine nuts and mushroom lent an earthy taste to the salad while the butter truffle oil gave this dish some pizzazz.

_MG_2973

It was certainly interesting to see that the Crispy Calamari ($18) came with compressed watermelon, on top of arugula, togarashi and white balsamic. The calamari was crisp with a chewy interior but tasted a little bland.

_MG_2986

The Baked Olive Cod Fish ($35) with pepperoni, hon shimeiji and baby potatoes is a dish that I wouldn’t mind ordering over and over again at NUVO. With a layer of olive espresso paste, every mouthful of the baked cod fish was sweet accompanied with just a slight tinge of bitterness. The lobster bisque sauce was wonderfully done, which brought this dish up a notch.

_MG_2991

Combining two different dishes on a plate, the Kurobota Pork Belly ($32) and Angel Hair Wakame ($18/$24) are a match made in heaven. Tossed in lobster essence, rayu oil and sprinkled with tamago fukikake, the angel hair pasta was al dente and a little on the salty side. Loved the kurobuta pork belly that was braised in dashi and soya sauce, then cooked kakuni style. Thinly sliced pork belly that melts in the mouth screams perfection.

_MG_2997

The dish that intrigued me the most at NUVO was the Smoked Uni Cabonara ($38) because of the addition of truffle soil. It was a brilliant move though, as the sweetness balances the creaminess of the cabonara.

_MG_3004

The Japones Australian Lamb Shank ($38) was served with fregola sarda, a type of Sardinia pasta. For someone who loves lamb, misterchewy commented that the lamb shank was hardly gamey, which was pretty disappointing.

_MG_3015

The Wild Honey Panna Cotta ($16) didn’t look like much but I was surprised by how the fluffy texture of the panna cotta and the taste of wild honey clearly stood out. The dehydrated fruits were extremely sweet, not that I’m complaining.

_MG_3011

I give two thumbs up to the Fuji Apple and Parmigiano Reggiano Torta ($14). Who would have though of incorporating cheese into their dessert? There was a very mild savory taste which went well with the scoop of fig and honey ice cream.

I highly recommend NUVO to people who have adventurous taste buds! Stay connected with us on Facebook www.facebook.com/missuschewy and on Instagram @missuschewy and @misterchewy 🙂

Hotel Clover The Arts Singapore Staycation Review

Sponsored Staycation

IMG_4415

Having stayed in a number of hotels in Singapore, our recent staycation in an art-themed boutique hotel was a first for us. Hotel Clover The Arts, situated in Chinatown, is a 6-storey and 44-room hotel which opened in April this year. This new hotel builds on its conviction to create a unique arts experience through its individually-themed rooms. Designed in styles as diverse as retro kitsch, urban street art, Pop Art vibrance and line art minimalism, each room in Hotel Clover The Arts creates its own distinctively unique experience.

_MG_4413

In a bold move to lend a voice to the Singapore’s brand of creativity, Hotel Clover The Arts invited students from different arts and design schools in Singapore to participate in a mural competition for 19 rooms. Independent professional artists were also commissioned to create art for Hotel Clover The Arts, including local artist Ceno2, who has his own distinctive brand of aerosol art, otherwise known as ‘Graffiti Fine Art’.

_MG_4411

Ceno2’s work can be found in the lobby of the hotel. The idea behind incorporating Singapore’s iconic attractions onto public spaces of the hotel is to create a talking point to encourage guests and staff to mingle by sharing stories, experiences and memories of subjects which they hold dear to their heart.

_MG_4430

As strange as it may sound, we felt that we could very much connect with the hotel because of all these paintings of Marina Bay Sands, Singapore Flyer and the like. It certainly gave us a sense of home.

IMG_4343

Love the cute idea of having a little sneak preview of each hotel room.

IMG_4196

We took the lift and checked out every floor of the hotel. Interestingly, you will be able to find the painting of a black cat on most levels. Kudos to the artist who managed to cleverly incorporate unsightly elements into the murals across all lift lobbies, transforming different corners of the hotel into a visual feast.

IMG_4342

As mentioned previously, each of the 44 rooms feature artworks which are strikingly different, ranging from stunningly picturesque mountainscapes to vintage-inspired comic art.

IMG_4197

Because each room is different, you will be guaranteed a whole new experience and an element of surprise each time you stay with the hotel. Perfect reason to keep heading back!

Mount Fuji Room
Photo Credit: Hotel Clover The Arts

We had the privilege of staying in this beautiful Arts King room, the highest of the 6 room categories available. Once again, Ceno2 lends his signature touch of creative genius to a breathtaking mural of Mount Fuji, depicting nature at its best – amidst clear blue sky, crystal waters and inspired forals. We were simply blown away by the magnificence of our room, not so much in terms of its space, but the dazzling beauty of Mount Fuji and cherry blossoms.

_MG_4235-tile

_MG_4281

All rooms come with a postcard featuring the design of the room, for guests to bring home as a momento or keepsake. It might seem as a small gesture but I think it’s a really nice personal touch.

_MG_4292

The 3 Arts King rooms at Hotel Clover The Arts include the following:

– Fully air-conditioned with individual control
– Laptop-sized safe
– Branded bathroom amenities
– Hairdryer
– Laundry & dry ceaning service
– Nescafe Dolce Gusto coffee machine
– Daily housekeeping service
– LED HDTV with satellite channels
– Complimentary Internet & local calls
– Iron & ironing board (upon request)
– Secured key card locking system

_MG_4324

IMG_4401

We took a little tour around the hotel and guess what we found! A giant tea cup!

IMG_4188

There is a roof terrace garden where guests are welcome to unwind with a book or even do yoga. Hotel Clover The Arts does not have a swimming pool but guests can hop over to its sister property Hotel Clover 5 Hong Kong Street and utilize its swimming pool there.

IMG_4338

Art lovers will appreciate the striking scenic view of a larger-than-life waterfall which literally cascades down the external facade of the hotel, bringing a charming and quaint feel to the quiet evening. The best time to check this out is early in the morning or late evening before the sky turns dark.

_MG_4348

I checked that the hotel does not provide baby amenities, so we brought Little misschewy’s inflatable tub along. Doesn’t she look like she’s having a whale of a time soaking in an onsen with an awesome view of Mount Fuji? 😛

_MG_4367

According to Hotel Clover The Arts’ Facebook page, their comfortable and fluffy guest room beds have 350 thread which will make you feel like you are sleeping on a cloud. We couldn’t agree more!

IMG_4372

There were only 3 to 4 tables but thankfully, the table turnover rate was high. Even though the breakfast selection was limited, the food surpassed my expectation! Even misterchewy who doesn’t usually have much of an appetite in the morning, went for a second helping.

IMG_4371

IMG_4376

_MG_4280

We certainly had a very memorable stay at Hotel Clover The Arts. Waking up in the Mount Fuji room made us feel like a million bucks! It is definitely something that we want to experience all over again. Stay connected with us on Facebook www.facebook.com/missuschewy and on Instagram @missuschewy and @misterchewy 🙂

Yoomi Feeding System Warms Baby’s Milk in 60 Seconds Plus Giveaway!

Sponsored Review

IMG_6166

It is Little misschewy’s feeding time. She is hungry and red-faced from all the crying (actually, in the above photo, she was just acting cute 😛 ). It takes like forever to warm chilled expressed breast milk packed from home. I have been through this situation many times and it is highly stressful for first time parents especially during the initial stage as newborns are not easily distracted when they are hungry. They want their milk and they want it NOW. In the past, I resorted to feeding formula milk as the time taken to prepare is much shorter compared to warming breast milk. Is this the best solution? Obviously not. Yes, breastfeeding mummies can always nurse in public but some babies do not latch on, and not all babies enjoy being nursed under a nursing cover. This is especially true when they get older, as they tend to reach out and grab everything within reach, which includes tugging at nursing covers and threatening to expose their mummies!

240ml_bottle_warmer+pod_pack&productsCUTOUT

When Agnes from AT Marketing Consultancy invited me to review the award-winning Yoomi feeding system by Yoomi Singapore, I readily agreed without much consideration because the idea of an innovative self-warming bottle providing perfect breast milk temperature feed in just 60 seconds and then staying warm for an hour sounds like something which will change my life in a positive way.

A bit about Yoomi:

– No-fuss latch on: natural breast-shaped and super-soft silicone teat which allows for a breast-from-breast experience
– Transition sorted: consistent breast milk temperature feed provided by Yoomi, babies have a familiarity they need to support weaning from breast to bottle
– Reduced likelihood of colic with its 6 anti-colic vents (most bottles have 1-4)
– Easy pouring and mixing: Yoomi’s unique, wide-necked bottle makes pouring and mixing simple – as well as clean and tidy
– Convenient: being suitable for both expressed breast-milk and formula, and ideal for combination or bottle feeding. Yoomi supports all babies’ feeding needs
– Comfy grip: the ergonomically designed bottle makes Yoomi easy to grip and more comfortable to hold during longer feeds
– Safe: the Yoomi range is 100% BPA free and meets the highest safety standards feeding
– Beautifully simple: using patented technology, the Yoomi pod enables warmers to be recharged in the microwave in just 2 mins using a ‘heat-shake, heat-shake’ method

IMG_6123

Yoomi feeding system is actually very simple. Firstly, the warmer needs to be charged. There are a few ways to do so but my favorite method is to let it boil for 30 minutes. Once the warmer is fully charged, there will be a clear rattling sound when you shake it. Allow the warmer to cool for at least 75 minutes at room temperature or 20 minutes in cold water before using.

IMG_6124

Another method of charging is to place the warmer in the charging pod before heating it in the microwave using the “heat shake heat shake” method. I personally find this method less straightforward, so I prefer to use the boiling method.

IMG_6167

Place the warmer in the Yoomi bottle and fill it with baby’s feed before heading out. Hungry baby eyeing her milk!

IMG_6173

The Yoomi warmer, which contains the same gel used in hand warmers, is activated by simply pressing the orange button. By using a clever ‘phase change’ material (meaning it changes from a liquid to a solid), Yoomi generates heat.

IMG_6174

When the bottle is tipped, the cold feed is gently warmed as it flows around the specially designed channels on the outside of the warmer. By the time the feed reaches the teat, it is at natural breast milk temperature (32-34˚C). All these take place in just 60 seconds. The warmer has been cleverly designed so that it cannot overheat the feed and stays warm for up to an hour.

IMG_6180

Happy baby = Happy mummy! Chanelle didn’t have to wait too long for her milk this time and she’s taking really well to the Yoomi bottle which is not surprising because of its natural breast-shaped and super soft silicone teat.

IMG_6182

I like how convenient it is now to bring out chilled breast milk for Little misschewy’s feeds but the warmer can only be used for one feed by staying warm for up to an hour. It is recommendeded that mummies buy a few warmers and charge all of them together so that the warmers can last you long hours while you are on the move.

IMG_6169

Grab your Yoomi feeding system at the Baby Market fair from 2nd to 5th October at Singapore Expo! Instead of the Usual Price of S$59.90, there will be a Launch Promotion S$49.90 + FREE 5oz bottle (worth S$18.90). Get an additional 5% discount by quoting MISSUSCHEWY or by presenting this blog post!

Tula Carrier from Baby Carrier Singapore

Sponsored Review

IMG_4622

Babywearing simply means wearing your baby in a sling or carrier. According to Dr. William Sears, a paediatrician, there are plenty of benefits associated with babywearing such as establishing a more intimate bond between mother and child through close physical contact, and enhancing baby’s motor skills by exposing him/her to a variety of sights, sounds and motions just to name a few.

IMG_4092

There are so many types and brands of carriers in the market that shopping for the perfect one becomes a mind boggling affair. Thanks to Baby Carrier Singapore, I was introduced to the colorful world of Tula carriers. The founders of Tula are a husband and wife team with three young children. They experienced how convenient babywearing was and how much it benefits both parent and child that they started to manufacture their own wraps and carriers. To be honest, I initially had some difficulty wearing the Tula carrier the right way as it was my first time babywearing. But Angela, owner of Baby Carrier Singapore is really helpful and always ready to offer me tips and advice over whatsapp such that soon enough, I was able to strap up my Tula on my own with great ease and confidence. In this photo, I’m wearing a black/gold stripe nursing dress from Eve of Eden.

IMG_4097

With the numerous articles circulating around with regards to hip dysplasia, parents and caregivers are encouraged to choose a baby carrier that allows healthy hip positioning, in addition to other safety considerations. Soft-structured carriers like Tula allow babies to sit in the desired “M” position when worn. This position (also known as the “frog position”) means that baby’s knees are higher than his bottom and his legs are spread apart naturally, which is beneficial for hip and spine development.

IMG_4111

In case you are wondering, Tula carriers allow front and back carry. So far I have only tried carrying Chanelle on my front because anxious mummy here cannot let her baby go out of her sight and back-carry is recommended only after six months of age. The maximum weight that Tula standard carriers can support is around 20kg. There’s something very amazing about Tula carriers. Do you know that you can use Tula to carry your newborn and toddler, all the way till your child is about 4 year old? Just by attaching the Tula “Free to Grow” extensions to the panel of the carrier, you can comfortably wear your older children. For parents with toddlers, you can also opt for the toddler version which allows you to wear your child from about 18 months old (and/or about 11kg) till 4-5 years old.

IMG_2970

Tula carriers fit a wide range of babywearing body types simply because Tulas are super adjustable. Just by extending the shoulder straps, anyone can utilize a Tula. Even my dad enjoys babywearing Chanelle!

_MG_3284

It also makes nursing in public easy, even more so when the panels are so huge – 15.5″ tall and 14.5″ wide, providing more coverage and privacy. Just loosen the panel straps in front a little to breastfeed on the go. Really convenient!

IMG_4113

I also love the additional padding in shoulder straps and child’s leg area for extra comfort. My shoulders do not ache even after half a day of babywearing Chanelle, who is around 8kg right now.

IMG_4618

Chanelle enjoys the Tula carrier as much as I do! She’s like my little koala bear, often peeking out of the carrier to observe her surroundings. She also falls asleep in the Tula very easily! Both misterchewy and I are just so amazed.

tulafoxy-tile

Last but not least, I gotta emphasize that Tula carries the widest range of carriers in various prints and designs; you will definitely be spoilt for choice! Here are just a few of the many designs that are available, of which Foxy and Oasis are the latest arrivals. How cute! The quirky Tula carrier designs are a bold fashion statement on its own and brighten up even the dreariest outfits. I was gifted the Retro Bikes Tula carrier which is really cute and perfect for babywearing on a casual weekend when misterchewy and I go around cafe hopping.

Tula carriers retail at $229 onwards which includes free local delivery and can be purchased at www.babycarriersingapore.com.

Park Hotel Clarke Quay Staycation Review

Sponsored Staycation

_MG_3891

It was more than half a year ago when misterchewy and I last went for a staycation in Singapore. Very long ago right! I still remember I popped 18 days later. Hehe. Our recent staycation at Park Hotel Clarke Quay was our very first one as a family of three. Really glad that we brought Little misschewy along because our wedding anniversary and misterchewy’s birthday was a few days later, so we wanted to celebrate the occasion together. I was thrilled about staying at Park Hotel Clarke Quay because I love its classic architecture which is inspired by Singapore’s colonial past. Besides that, I like that the hotel is strategically located in the heart of the city and the nightlife at Clarke Quay is very vibrant. Perfect for party goers and foreigners who want to experience the nightlife in Singapore.

_MG_3794

There are 336 well-appointed rooms and suites at Park Hotel Clarke Quay which all showcase modern baroque furnishings, elevated ceilings, as well as floor-to-ceiling windows that offer guests sweeping views of the Singapore River and the city skyline. Our Club room located on the 9th floor wasn’t too big but there was space for our small luggage, baby playpen and stroller, with room to walk around comfortably.

_MG_3843

Baby Chanelle was just as excited as Papa! She was in a bright yellow summer dress, courtesy of Aunty Mag 😀

_MG_3847

Do you know that children under 12 years old stay for FREE at all Park Hotel Group’s establishments? Kids meals are also complimentary!

_MG_3861

In-room amenities tailored for little ones are also available at no additional charge. A bottle sterilizer in the room makes things much more convenient for us.

_MG_3874

Very impressed with the wide selection of snacks!

_MG_3876

As a breastfeeding mother, the first thing I did when I opened the mini fridge was to check if it’s cold enough to store my expressed milk and not what’s inside the fridge. Felt that the fridge wasn’t cold enough and there wasn’t a freezer compartment to freeze the cooling panels of my cooler bag 🙁

_MG_3850

It was Chanelle’s nap time so we let her have the queen-sized bed.

_MG_3870

_MG_3888

Little girl woke up about an hour later and we simply had to show her the view from our room.

IMG_3854

_MG_3916

Before dinner, we pushed Little misschewy around in her Maclaren Denim Quest Stroller. For an extra cushy ride, I got her a Skip Hop Memory Foam Stroller Liner from Agape Babies. They are currently having a diaper bag sale and also 15% off playmats!

_MG_3914

I really love the stunning pool that overlooks the panaromic city skyline. With state-of-the-art audio and visual equipment and superior standards in service, the hotel is an ideal venue to host wedding solemnizations, events and conferences. In fact, there was a wedding ceremony that took place that day!

Little misschewy was probably scared when we left her to sleep in the playpen given that the environment was an unfamiliar one.

When she was finally drunk (on milk, not wine!), we transferred her back to the playpen. Hehehe.

_MG_4041

Our little bubba is clearly a morning person! 😀

_MG_4043

_MG_4050

Thanks to Chanelle, we never really had to set our alarm on weekends because she would be the one waking us up by 9am. Lol. We were in time for breakfast at Brizo! It was Chanelle’s very first time on the high chair, which was too big for her. Anyway, we didn’t have much appetite so we only grabbed a few bites. The egg station is not to be missed!

Seasons Bistro Singapore Brunch Review

Tasting Invite

_MG_3423

Seasons Bistro is one of the newer F&B establishments located in Orchard, at Triple One Somerset. As its name suggests, the menu at Seasons Bistro changes with the season, with an eye on the multi-faceted cuisines of the Americas as its inspiration. Eating by the season ensures that only freshest ingredients that are widely available are being used, which are often priced affordably and these costs savings are passed on to consumers!

_MG_3419

Mag and I were at Seasons Bistro to try out some of the brunch items and it’s really impressive that most of the must-try dishes are below $20!

_MG_3425

Designed to welcome diners at any time of the day, the spacious establishment is bedecked with warm wood furnishings against the expansive glass windows that offer a great view of the bustling streets of Somerset Road. Frames of the New York City backdrop adorn the walls, channelling the vibrancy of the metropolitan city and fostering conviviality within a cosy setting. Diners can also enjoy a pleasant drinking experience in the restaurant’s bar area with seating arrangements along the bar counter or on high tables. An extensive deli counter is also available at the restaurant with a takeaway menu of gourmet sandwiches, cold cuts and cheese platters for convenient meals.

_MG_3365

We started off with the Baked Aubergine & Harissa Salad ($17) which was made up of ciabatta, pomegranate, tomatoes, chick peas, confied lemons, field greens, parsley, mint and shaved goat cheese. Very refreshing and hearty!

_MG_3364

I really loved the presentation of the Grilled Shrimp ‘Margarita’ ($18)! The combination of avocado, summer tomatoes, red cabbage, jicama, watermelon, tequila-spiked cocktail sauce and lime worked marvelously well together.

_MG_3370

As I was uploading photos to my laptop, I told misterchewy that I’m gonna introduce Seasons Bistro’s Popcorn Chicken ($14) to him! It’s really an amazing treat, served with spicy popcorn. The Jamaican jerk sauce was super addictive and I reckon it would work well with burgers too.

_MG_3395

Brunch at Seasons Bistro is from 10am to 4pm everyday. The Freedom Toast ($16) is easily one of my favorite. Egg dipped bread, smoked bacon, brie and maple will never go wrong.

_MG_3399

If you love sausages, you should go for The Lumberjack ($18). Eggs anyway of your choice and we chose scrambled which was really awesome. The pancake was soft and fluffy, which tasted fantastic with some maple syrup.

_MG_3389

The Montreal & Lox ($15) is highly recommended for a dose of omega 3. A hearty combination of toasted bagels, cream cheese, capers, onions, smoked salmon, tomatoes and greens is the best way to start your day right!

_MG_3416

We shared some desserts and the Mojito Tart ($12++) was a pretty interesting and unusual one. Toasted coconut tart was crusty and flaky, topped with mint lime curd & rum cream. Simply divine!

I give two thumbs up for Season’s Carrot Cake ($12++) which was moist and packed with a generous amount of chopped walnuts. Really love this as it wasn’t cloyingly sweet.

_MG_3404

It felt really sinful to be eating the Black Forest Cake ($14++) which was very rich and luscious. But who cares? I reckon it’s worth every calorie!

Brunch at Seasons Bistro was definitely an enjoyable affair and I can’t wait to pay a revisit together with misterchewy and baby Chanelle! 🙂

An Elegant Mid Autumn Dinner at The Fullerton Hotel

Tasting Invite

_MG_3576

Helmed by the talented Master Chef Leong Chee Yeng, Jade Restaurant at The Fullerton Hotel will be presenting a luxurious 6-course Mid-Autumn Reunion Dinner Feast, available at S$88++ per person from 25 August to 8 September 2014. We were in for a visual treat as well when the Trio of Mid Autumn Combination was served. Can you tell that it actually represents Chang E flying to the moon? 😉

_MG_3580

I was extremely pleased with the Boiled Sea Grouper Soup with Black Fungus and Chinese Wine served with Steamed Quail Egg as the broth was milky and full-bodied while the thick chunk of grouper was firm and flaky. Interestingly, the quail egg represents the moon!

_MG_3586

To be honest, I wasn’t too thrilled about the Fragrant Crispy Duck stuffed with Yam Paste because I’m not a fan of the traditional yam basket but this was fantastic. The crispy duck and yam paste went very well together.

_MG_3592

The Stewed Whole Abalone with Dried Scallop and Homemade Edamame Bean Curd totally stole the show. No, it was not the abalone but the edamame bean curd which won our praises because it had a silky smooth texture and soft consistency.

_MG_3595

The Fragrant Wok-fried Five Grain Rice with Crab Meat was simply comforting. Loved that every bite was full of flavor.

_MG_3601

We had the Classic Trio Desserts made up of shaved almond ice with osmanthus jelly, chilled rabbit-shaped egg white cake, and petit traditional oven-baked and snowskin mooncakes to end the meal. The presentation was very adorable! The almond ice with osmanthus jelly was my favorite of the three because it was very refreshing. The White Lotus Seed Paste with Single Yolk Snow Skin Mooncake features a smooth and delightfully sweet white lotus seed paste. The Pandan with Gula Melaka Snow Skin Mooncake is a nostalgic blend of familiar local flavours where the aroma of the pandan complements the deep caramel flavour of the palm sugar.

Matching Beushoes for Mummy and Child

Sponsored Post

DSCF2015

I shall start off this post by quoting Marilyn Monroe, “Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world.” Our shoes certainly play a very important role in our everyday lives and it can either make or break your day. I’m here to introduce to you Singapore’s first bespokes shoes for children, be*U! Hitting the shelves at Takashimaya Department Store and TweenAge earlier in May this year, be*U is an award-winning luxurious children shoe brand which encourages originality and personal expression. This is made possible with over 600 designs, 100 colors and 6 different types of leathers such as kangaroo, cow, lamb, ostrich, horsehide and crocodile.

Apart from the unique appearance of the brand’s range of shoes, be*U places a strong emphasis on quality and uses only the finest genuine leather sourced from Europe and America to produce award-winning products that embody the true spirit of fine craftsmanship and attention to detail. Do you know that each pair of shoes is painstakingly handmade by well-trained artisans and requires 10 hours of workmanship? This includes cutting of the leather, sewing, stitching and embossing of the name and message, making each pair truly unique.

All the designs are done by hand and the leathers are cut out piece by piece by experienced craftsmen. What you see here is just a very small fraction of what is actually available. There are designs that are gender neutral and gender specific.

DSCF2048

The ingenious idea of incorporating velcro enables the easy interchanging of different motif designs. Who wouldn’t love a pair of shoes like these? Your little one gets to choose his/her own motifs whenever wherever!

Apart from the special gift box set, these are some of the many shoes from be*U’s kids collection. As you can see, the possibilities are endless! All the designs are so cute!

Chanelle is really lucky to be able to own her very first pair of walking shoes from be*U even though she hasn’t even started to crawl. Haha! A very lovely red and pink Narcissus design from the kids keyboard collection.

DSCF2029

Examining her kicks with much interest!

DSCF2038

Much thought went into designing the perfect pair of be*U shoes. The signature patented keyboard outsole is an award winning invention. The keyboard outsole maximizes the flexibility and shock absorbancy in the heel. Stitched by hand instead of glue, the outsole is certainly built to last for a very long time!

DSCF2063

Children learning to walk tend to swing thus the heel counter helps correct walking postures as it contains a stiffener to provide solid support to the heel and hold the feet more firmly. Body weight is also supported by the heel thus reducing the extra tension created, resulting in an excellent environment for children’s foot development.

DSCF2060

be*U shoes are equipped with adequate cushioning of the insole and a built-in arch for ultimate comfort and support for the feet. The shoes also open up widely and allows kids to put them on easily, without the help of an adult.

DSCF2040

be*U shoes use the classic stitch because it will not unravel. The hand-sewn lined thread is coated with wax to make it smooth, waterproof and to prevent rotting.

DSCF2057

If you notice from the photo, be*U rounded shoes are extra wide, and thus mimics barefoot walking closely. The rounded edges provide more room for the little toes and allow feet to move, grip and feel the floor. This way, little feet can grow properly and develop strength and musculature through the grasping action of the toes.

DSCF2042

The new ankle-high cut provides more support and hence more protection, which lowers the risk of ankle sprains.

DSCF2052

It may be hard to believe but children’s feet perspire heavily! be*U only uses 100% genuine leather as it is a breathable material. It is not only more durable but also helps to keep the child’s foot cooler and dryer which prevents blisters, discomfort and odour.

DSCF2050

Mummy missuschewy is also very lucky to receive a pair of Ballerina shoes to match Baby Chanelle’s! The adult ballerina comes in five different widths and mums are welcome to customize their pairs as well. The other be*U signature in the ballerina range are the 12-hour shoes, which are designed for long periods of standing. With a wider width, shock absorption, energy-return insole and high durability outsole, the 12-hour ballerinas provide the ultimate comfort that cannot be found elsewhere. I can’t wait for Chanelle to start walking so that we can wear our matching shoes and conquer the world together! 😉
